So You Think You Can Dance? (1)

Are you an avid dancer? Have you caught on to the latest reality TV show?

Tango, Cha-Cha, Trip-Hop, Lindy Hop, Hip Hop, Funk, Breakdance, Ballet, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Pakour, Waltz, or just the little children's carefree dancing. Aren't they all the highest form of rhythmic expression that the human body can attain? Some people can dance very well, while others are merely so-so.

I haven't exactly watched the TV programme yet, but Bro HC provided a slight idea what it is about. During the hymn & prayer service last evening, he shared with us that he happened to watch an episode where each dancer performed a dance of his/her own forte. Individually, they all did very well, but what happens when you put them all together, play one type of music and get them to dance simultaneously? --- chaos!

Whether we know it or not, all of us are actually dancers.
Our Dance is the Dance of Life.

Regardless of whether we do pirouettes or 'the turtle', our dance goes on as long as we breathe.
Some of us have danced for merely 3 years while others, 19 years, and for some, even 68 years. Who judges your performance? Do you have any 'Nasty Nigel' giving you snide comments? I'd like to think that the sole judge for our dance of life to be our Lord Jesus Christ.

After we finish our perfomance, we stand before Him, the ultimate, Holy Judge in Heaven. What would His verdict be? Do we attain the crown of Life? Or do we become disqualified. Yes, it is all very harrowing to think of us ending up in the wrong place after we awake from our sleep.

We have a pre-determined number of years ahead to rehearse and polish our dance steps. Be it long or short, let us resolve to put up the best performance on our life stage, worthy of His grace.

"For we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men." - 1 Cor 4:9b
